Michael Duffy was first introduced to Montessori education when he and his wife, D’Neil, enrolled their 2 1/2 year old daughter in a New York Montessori school in 1973. With more than 40 years experience as a Montessori parent, teacher, trainer, and consultant, Mr. Duffy is a leading authority on Montessori curriculum.

Along with his wife, Mr. Duffy has co-authored three books: “Math Works: Montessori Math and the Developing Brain,” “Love of Learning: Supporting Intrinsic Motivation in Montessori Students,” and “Children of the Universe: Cosmic Education in The Montessori Elementary Classroom.” They also helped to found the Montessori Elementary Teacher Training Collaborative (METTC), outside of Boston, MA.

The Montessori School of Fort Smith invites people with or without children with an interest or curiosity about this non-traditional approach to learning. Mr. Duffy will discuss the the curriculum, philosophy, and structure of the Montessori classroom as well as answer questions from audience.
